Fosamax Overview
Fosamax, an osteoporosis drug manufactured by Merck, has been linked to osteonecrosis, a condition in which the jaw bone rots. Merck has aggressively marketed Fosamax and ignored warnings of the drug’s dangers. Merck has made $3million annually from sales of Fosamax.
Fosamax belongs to a family of drugs known as bisphosphonates. A link has been found between bisphosphonates and a bone disease called osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ). If you or a loved one has suffered from complications due to oral surgery while taking Fosamax or its generic equivalent Alendronate, you could be eligible for compensation.
