Collision coverage
this type of insurance covers the insured for damage to the insured vehicle as a result of a collision or damage from another vehicle or object.
Comprehensive coverage
covers the insured from loss due to theft,
fire, falling objects, earthquake, flood, missiles, explosion, riot and civil unrest.
Bodily Injury Liability
covers injuries that you have caused as a result of a car accident. Unfortunately there is no requirement to carry bodily injury insurance. Florida liability coverage limits:
10/20/10 10=$10,000 - 20=$20,000 - 10=$10,000
bodily injury liability maximum for one person injured in
an accident.
Second number = bodily injury liability maximum for all injuries in one
accident.
Third number = property damage liability maximum
Property damage liability
covers damage to property that you, the insured have caused to another’s car, house, etc.
Medical payments coverage
covers the insured for any medical bills that may be incurred for injuries to passengers in your car.
Uninsured motorist coverage
covers the insured for a hit-and-run or in the event that the other driver involved in an accident has no liability insurance. This is not required in Florida. However, it is highly recommended to carry this type of insurance.

in an accident.

Underinsured motorist coverage
covers the insured for an accident where another driver has inadequate liability insurance to cover medical bills, lost wages, as well as pain and suffering damages from the crash. This is also not required in Florida. However, it is highly recommended to purchase this insurance.
